On Saturday, March 14, our Grade 10 students took part in a highly valuable First Aid course held at school. It was a full and engaging day, during which students developed essential life-saving skills and knowledge.
Throughout the course, students learned how to respond to a range of situations, including treating minor injuries, managing burns and bites, and supporting someone with a suspected fracture. They were also taught how to stabilize injuries effectively, perform CPR, and place someone in the recovery position—critical skills that can make a real difference in an emergency.
The day was both practical and interactive, allowing students to practice these techniques and build confidence in their ability to respond appropriately. By the end of the course, all students received a certificate recognizing their participation and newly acquired skills.
It was a fantastic day, and we hope that all students took away important knowledge that will stay with them. Most importantly, they are now better prepared to act calmly and effectively should they ever face an emergency, especially when on an expedition.
