Contacting and Visiting

Whether you are moving from another city or another continent, or perhaps just looking into the possibility of a new local school for your child, we at H.I.S. understand your need to know as much as possible about a potential new school.

For this reason, we encourage all interested parents or families to come to H.I.S. for a visit before making any decisions about their child’s educational future. As the Admissions Counsellor, I will be happy to show you around our facilities, take you into the classrooms, explain our programmes and discuss what H.I.S. has to offer your family. My intention is to give you a personal experience of the learning environment and the welcoming atmosphere that your child would encounter at H.I.S.

I first joined Heidelberg International School as a German Teacher in 2007. I have taught students in all grades offered, from Early Primary to Grade 12, so I have a great deal of experience working with international students and families.

Over the years I have taken on various roles and responsibilities at H.I.S. As Middle Years Programme Co-ordinator, a role I had for 8 years, I worked with staff, students and parents on implementing new features of the IB Middle Years Programme, while guiding the school through the authorization process.

In my new role of Admissions Counsellor, I look forward to showing you our school and to helping you make an informed decision.

Please give me a call or send me an email to arrange a time for your visit. If you are not able to visit H.I.S., I suggest we speak on the phone. Emails are an option as well, although I generally find that I can provide more detailed information in person or on the phone. I look forward to meeting you or at least speaking to you and giving you an introduction to life at H.I.S.

With best wishes,

Anke Schumacher
Admissions Counsellor
