Introduction

H.I.S. Heidelberg International School is an independent co-educational day school currently enrolling students from Early Primary 1 (age 4) to Grade 11. Grade 12 will be offered in the 2010-11 school year.

H.I.S. is an IB World School. These are "schools that share a common philosophy - a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education" (International Baccalaureate (IB)).

H.I.S. is authorized to provide the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the 2-year IB Diploma Programme for Grade 11 and 12.  We are a candidate school for the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).

The curriculum is international, the language of instruction is English. German is a required subject for all students (from Early Primary 1 to Grade 10) and is taught from beginner to native-speaker level. Spanish is offered from Grade 6.
