Welcome - from the School Director

Thank you for visiting the Heidelberg International School (H.I.S.) website. 

H.I.S. is the international school that has been serving the needs of the international community within the Rhine-Neckar region since September 2002.

Our purpose-built facilities, opened in September 2008, are equipped to enable approximately 300 students to participate in the excellent programmes of the International Baccalaureate (IB). The IB Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes are recognised worldwide and prepare young people to be serious about their responsibilities as global citizens.

Within a respectful and supportive environment, students from the Early Primary classes (4- and 5-year olds) through to the Diploma level are encouraged to develop a love of learning as well as the skills required to be successful in their academic, social and personal lives.

The H.I.S. faculty are all enthusiastic, well-qualified teachers with a wide range of experience and a high level of professionalism.

H.I.S. welcomes the involvement of all members of its community as partners, with opportunities to share in the classrooms, at social events and with extra-curricular activities.
